In the course of the Museum’s responsibility for the heritage from field of science and technology, the strategy for the development of the Museum includes the work on the integral protection of moveable and immoveable cultural assets. Moveable assets, as well as the buildings they reside in, will be systematically researched, documented and protected in situ. In April 2007, a protocol was signed for partner co-operation in the integral protection of industrial heritage. This is in regard to items of historical, technological, social, architectural and scientific significance to the territories of the Republic of Serbia. The signatories of the protocol include the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Institute for the Protection of Monuments of Culture of the Republic of Serbia - Belgrade, thirteen institutions with regional responsibility, and the Museum of Science and Technology. The Council for the Protection of Industrial Heritage was formed in November 2007. The Council works with five members, including representatives from the Ministry of Culture, the Institute for Protection of Monuments of Culture of the Republic of Serbia - Belgrade, the Institute for the Protection of Monuments of Culture of Vojvodina – Petrovaradin, and the Museum of Science and Technology, which runs the administrative and technical affairs of the Council. |
