This year Belgrade hosted the central celebration for “Days of European Heritage”. The subject was “Rivers - streams of heritage”. The Museum of Science and Technology took part in this event with the exhibition “River Shipping - Cultural Assets on Water”.

 

The Museum displayed a part of its collection of river shipping, which included ship instruments, lights, an anchor, motor, lifebuoy and other items. Also displayed were original photographs of steam ships, as well as nine boats registered as cultural assets because of their importance for the shipping history of our country.

 

Ship model makers from the club “Panon - Pančevo”, with whom the Museum has a long-term cooperation, displayed 18 scale-models of river ships, original blueprints for model making, and old ship documents and objects.
